Business to business is the primary way of distributing your products in Indonesia. Despite the global growth in online shopping, e-commerce in Indonesia still accounts for less than two per cent of total retail sales. This is due to heavily regulated cross-border controls. Sellers using the Amazon and eBay platforms experience enormous difficulties getting unregistered products through Indonesian customs.

Distribution channels for consumer products in Indonesia still rely heavily on modern retail supply chains. These channels include department stores and specialty stores located in shopping malls, as well as a vast network of traditional independent stores, such as health and food shops, baby shops, hobby retailers, outdoor fitters and general stores.

There are a number of players in the Indonesian e-commerce sector. Individual brands or multi-brand sellers usually set up official online stores to sell direct on platforms on Shopee Indonesia, Tokopedia, Lazada and Blibli. Shopee Indonesia is currently the largest online marketplace in Indonesia.

Since 2018, PT. MUM has enjoyed an exclusive partnership with Shopee Indonesia. This successful partnership allows us to access greater brand support for our partners, competitive delivery costs and significant brand exposure to the nearly 130 million monthly visitors to its marketplace.

Independent Shops

The premium baby shops and health food stores (our main B2Bs) are largely concentrated in the capital cities like Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya and Medan. In an industry notorious for unhealthy price wars in both online and offline channels, our key focus has always been on creating long-term partnerships with a curated pool of premium baby shops, as opposed to the short-lived gains in market share.

We work with carefully selected independent bricks-and-mortar shops in the premium mom and baby industry. Our sales team is actively growing our brands’ footprints across Java, Bali and Sumatra.

PT MUM has partnered with Sociolla to stock Jack N’ Jill Kids and NFCo in its new Lilla mom and baby online store as well as its seven bricks-and-mortar Lilla stores in Jakarta’s premium shopping malls.

D2C channels

We run and operate official malls in two of Indonesia’s biggest marketplace for moms & babies market: Shopee and Tokopedia. Depending on the number of SKUs a brand has, we will assist brand principal in setting up an online presence in both marketplaces (there is a minimum requirement for the number of SKUs for an official brand store) and the order fulfillment process. Our warehouse is strategically located in West Jakarta and is certified for storing health goods by Indonesian Ministry of Health.

Shopee Indonesia is the country’s largest e-commerce platform, with the number-one market share in the mom and baby category.

The platform's brand ambassadors have included Korean supergroup BLACKPINK in 2018 and footballer Cristiano Ronaldo in 2019.

While Shopee offers incredible exposure all year round, when you form an exclusive partnership the benefits magnify. Partner brands can be amplified in Shopee's monthly 'Double Double' promotions (run on the day of the month that equals the number of the month, for example, July 7 / September 9).
